OOTD // Black With A Pop Of Red

And it's snowing again!! The sun was shining shortly, and for a moment I thought it was feeling a tiny bit like Spring, but I guess those fluffy sweaters are still much needed. I have a few days off with no classes and am loving just being able to have absolutely nothing to do and reenergize for the next semester. January is perfect for finding great bargains everywhere. Usually somewhere this month I go to Rome to spend time with my family, and always go shopping in the outlets there or normal shopping centers. If you're looking for some fun outfit inspiration, get comfy and read further! 

I would say my style has changed over the months. 2018 Was a year of self-discovery, I learned a lot of life lessons, learned more about myself and about the way I dress. I mean, we all have those pictures from when we were a teen and think by ourselves ' how could we dress like that?' haha. Exploring what suits you is just trial and error. Eventually, you'll get the hang of it. 

Palazzo Trousers

I never really wear an outfit all in black, but I wanted to try something new. When I was in Florence a few months ago, I saw many women with palazzo trousers and thought they're super cute! So I went to the Zara in the hope of finding a pair and came across there black palazzo trousers. The material is really light, and I love it's a cropped fit. I'm not that tall, so a lot of the time when you want palazzo trousers, the width is ok but they're too long. You can adjust the width and you can tie it in a bow around your waist. Black is an easy and basic color and you can easily wear it in summer too. 

Basic Jumper 

The long sleeve top is from the Mango and is made from cashmere. It's really comfy and also nice to wear with a pair of jeans. It's basically just a simple jumper and with the right accessories, you can make it cute.  If you're not a fan of black, at the Mango you can find this jumper in other colors, like light grey, white or brown. For spring they always have a range of other colorful pastel shades. 

Comfy Boots 

Because it's winter, I combined it with a pair of black boots. Black boots are a basic for your wardrobe and you can never go wrong with them. I went to the big shopping mall in Rome called Euroma 2 and they have lots of lovely shops. From Pandora to Oysho and many more. I went to a shoe store and came across these boots. They aren't from a particular brand but are really comfy and good for cold and rainy days. They do look similar to Dr. Martins but are a bit cheaper. 

A Pop Of Color

To complete my look I combined it with a red purse from the Zara, adding a pop of color. It was the first time I bought a purse there or even a purse at all. I often just use a shoulder handbag, but these smaller purses are great if you don't have to carry a lot of things with you. I've used it for a few months now, and the quality is quite good. I didn't expect it to last long, because it's not real leather. But it still looks like new and you even your glass case fits in it aha!

A Heart Of Gold Is A Joy Forever // Inherited Jewellery

Can you believe that in a few days it's Febuary?! Omg! I never expected this month to go by that fast.. People always say that January is the longest month of the year, but I actually think it's the opposite. Before you know it it's Christmas again aha! Since it's Sunday, and those days are always good for cleaning and organizing your home, I came across a special necklace and want to share it here on my blog. I think every girl loves buying and getting jewelry. But when its from a family member, it adds a special touch to it. Get comfy and lets get right to it!

Ti Sento and Pommelato are my favorite brands, and they're both Italian. Ti Sento is nice if you like to stay within your budget a bit and Pommelato is quite expensive, but has beautiful rings with colorful stones. Now that I'm thinking, I don't wear necklaces that often. I usually wear rings, but it would actually be fun to start wearing necklaces more as well, maybe in combination with a ring.

When my grandmother was young she wore this necklace, and eventually gave it to my mother when she was really young. It's special when you can wear something you know your family cherises a lot. I hope I don't lose it haha.. It's something with a meaning, I'm really greateful I can wear it! The necklace is made from gold, and is in the shape of a small heart. I often see those necklaces with a lock where you can put a small picture in them or write a message. Those are really cute too! You can wear a simple casual outfit, and with the right jewelry you can add that extra sparkle to your outfit. I wore something really simple, a tee with a comfy cardigan and the necklace makes complete.

Leuke Verlichting Om Je Kamer Mee Op Te Vrolijken

December is voorbij geloven, en het is gewoon alweer 2019! De winter is niet een van mijn meest favoriete maanden moet ik eerlijk zeggen. Het is koud, nat, en regenachtig weer en het wordt ook super vroeg donker. Aan de andere kant kun je er maar het beste van maken. De perfecte oplossing om je te helpen tegen een winterdip, is om je kamer flink op te vrolijken met leuke accessoires. Lees gauw verder om wat extra inspiratie op te doen! 

Lampen zijn de ideale manier om je kamer sfeervol in te richten. Dat maakt die donkere dagen al een stuk minder erg. Je kamer moet namelijk een plek zijn waar je je op je gemak voelt,  en na een drukke dag lekker kunt relaxen met een kop thee en je favoriete serie op Netflix. Op directlampen.nl vind je allerlei soorten verlichting, van toffe wandlampen, tot vloerlampen, tafellampen en nog veel meer. Je kunt de lampen vinden per categorie, zoals bijvoorbeeld retro stijl, of als je meer van de klassiekere stijl houdt landelijke stijl, of zelfs oosterse lampen. Grote kans dat er een stijl bij zit die bij jou past! 

Mijn favoriete merk lampen is Leitmotiv. Ik vind de designs erg cool, en passen bij een kamer met een moderne look. De twee lampen die ik heb uitgekozen zijn (je raadt het misschien al haha) van Leitmotiv. Ik heb toevallig net een nieuwe studentenkamer gevonden. De kamer was nog aardig leeg, dus de lampen kwamen eigenlijk precies op het goede moment. 

De eerste lamp die ik heb uitgekozen is een Scandinavische bureaulamp in het wit. Vind vooral het design heel cool, en het ziet er ook duur en design achtig uit. Omdat ik verder eigenlijk nog geen bureaulamp had, en deze lamp overal bij past, had ik de beslissing gauw genomen. Met wit kun je nooit de mist in gaan. Leitmotiv staat bekend om het combineren van je creativiteit en functionaliteit. Het aapje wat op mijn bureau is van mijn moeder geweest toen ze heel klein was. Het leek me wel leuk om het beeldje te combineren met de bureaulamp. Wat ook erg handig is, is dat de lamp verstelbaar is dat het snoer best lang is, 155cm. De lamp is gemaakt van stevig metaal en je kunt het combineren met een leuke vloerlamp in dezelfde scandinavische sfeer!

Mijn kamer was natuurlijk bijna helemaal leeg, dus een staande lamp leek mij ook erg handig. Ik wilde niet nog een witte lamp kiezen, omdat alles in de kamer al wit is. En een beetje kleur is altijd goed! Vandaar dat ik een lichtgrijze vloerlamp van Leitmotiv uitgekozen heb, om de Scandinavische sfeer uit te breiden haha. Het is een soort studio lamp, verstelbaar en 150cm hoog. Wat ik fijn vind is dat je het als leeslamp kunt gebruiken, maar ook bijvoorbeeld als staande lamp ergens in een zithoek. 

Ik ben super blij met beide lampen. Als je voor een moderne uitstraling gaat, dan zit je zeker goed bij dit merk! Verder kun je in de webshop ook merken vinden zoals o.a. Artemide en Label 51. Ik hoop dat je fijne feestdagen hebt gehad, en wens je een gelukkig 2019!! 

Hollister Workout Outfit // OOTD

And it's officially 2019! Have you gotten the winter blues? I haven't gotten them just yet, but I am looking forward to the brighter days coming ahead. Working out more is New Year's resolution of many people. To be honest, I don't really believe in those resolutions. You come up with a few, postponing it and start working on them at the beginning of the new year. But as time goes on, you kind of slip away and your resolution wasn't succesful. Of course, many like to resolutions and if it works for you continue and great job! What I always like to do is write down a few goals I want to achieve, and start working on them right away. Working out and being active have always been part of my lifestyle. And when it's part of your way of living, you can easily make a routine out of it, whether daily or monthly. You have to push and motivate yourself, which can be hard, I totally get that. But in the end, you are entirely up to you. 

Try to make a very specific resolution or goal, what you prefer to call it, like for example wanting to go to a spinning class every Saturday evening. Or wanting to go to for a 30-minute walk everyday. Remember that your goals don't have to be huge. When you set those smaller specific goals, and repeat them often, you start getting used to it and create a routine without actually thinking about it. Sweatpants To Keep You Warm

Working out when you're wearing cute gym wear is so much more fun! Read my previous post with fun gym wear inspiration here. It keeps you motivated and gives just that extra confidence boost, which always comes in handy. Hollister is one of my favorite clothing brands. I always buy my jeans, pj's and gym clothes there. I bought both the jumper and the sweatpants in their sale online. They didn't match it as a set, but I thought the jumper would look good in combination with the pants. The pants fit like tights, with fleece inside, so it's more for the winter. If you're planning on buying them I would pick at least one size bigger, because they are really small. I'm wearing a size m, and usually I have a size S. 

Sweatshirt To Complete The Outfit

The jumper has a bit of red around the Hollister logo, which makes it look nice with the red sweatpants. It's a cropped fit, and I bought it because the sweatpants are highwaisted. In summer you can wear the jumper with a pair of shorts on a chilly evening. But for now, a bare stomach is a bit too cold haha. Navy is also an easy color, which you can combine with almost anything. You can even wear this jumper if you're planning to have a cozy day at home with a cup of tea and Netflix.

Capturing Moments One Photo At A Time

Ik hoop dat je een fijne kerst hebt gehad! De tijd vliegt zeg, het is gewoon alweer 2019! Om eerlijk te zijn ben ik na de feestdagen altijd moe, en heb ik zin om lekker niks te doen en met een beker warme chocomel op de bank te liggen met mijn favorite serie. Heb jij dat ook? Eten rond de feestdagen is er altijd wel genoeg haha. Vandaag wil ik iets super tofs met je delen, en ben benieuwd in de reacties wat je er van vindt. Ik vind het altijd super leuk om foto's te maken. Het liefst wil een een spiegelreflex kopen, want die maken net weer wat betere foto's dan een mobiel. Foto's zijn altijd leuk om later op terug te kijken. Eigenlijk kun je je Instagram zien als een online fotoboek. Als je door de foto's scrolt, krijg ik altijd een bepaald gevoel bij een bepaalde periode. Een foto zegt, het klinkt misschien cliché, meer dan duizend woorden. Een fotoboek is daarom het perfect cadeau, lees gauw verder!

To be honest, I am always tired after the holidays, and I feel like doing nothing and lying on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate with my favorite series. Do you have that too? Eating around the holidays is always enough haha. Today I want to share something super cool with you, and am curious about what you think about it. I always love taking photos. People prefer to buy an SLR, because they take better photos than a mobile phone. Photos are always nice to look back on later. You can actually see your Instagram as an online photo album. When you scroll through the photos, I always get a certain feeling with a certain period. A photo says, it may sound cliché, more than a thousand words. A photo album is therefore the perfect gift, read on soon!

Het leek mij een cool idee om mijn Instagram foto's te laten afrdukken in een fotoboek. Ik heb daar eigenlijk nooit bij stil gestaan dat je dat ook kon doen! Is net weer eens iets anders dan standaard familie of vakantiefoto's. Het fotoalbum is de perfecte webshop als jij ook een fotografieliefhebber bent! Je kunt er bijvoorbeeld wanddecoraties, gepersonaliseerde tijdschriften en natuurlijk fotoalbums bestellen in allerlei kleuren, soorten en maten. Er zit altijd wel iets bij wat jij leuk vindt en wat bij je past. 

I thought it would be a cool idea to have my Instagram photos printed off in a photo album. I never really thought that you could do that! Is just something else then standard family or holiday photos. Het fotoalbum is the perfect webshop if you are also a photography enthusiast! For example, you can order wall decorations, personalized magazines and of course photo albums in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. There is always something that you like and that suit you.

Het fotoboek wat ik heb uitgekozen is wit en heeft een harde kaft. Je krijgt losse fotoafdrukken bij het boek toegestuurd, die je dan zelf aan het elkaar kunt koppelen door middle van een paar schroeven, heel handig! Je kunt, als je van gedachte veranderd ook de volgorde nog veranderen. Ik vind de kwaliteit van de foto's duidelijk en mooi, vooral omdat ik een melding kreeg dat de foto's niet erg scherp waren en daardoor iets minder duidelijk konden zijn. Desondanks zijn ze erg mooi geworden en heb ik er niks van gemerkt. Ik vind dat de hoeveelheid afdrukken die je krijgt zeker in verhouding staat met de prijs. 

The photo album that I have chosen is white and has a hard cover. You will receive separate photo prints with the book, which you can link to each other yourself through a couple of screws, very handy! If you change your mind, you can also change the order. I think the quality of the photos is clear and beautiful, especially since I received a message that the photos were not very sharp and could therefore be less clear. Nevertheless, they have become very beautiful and I have not noticed anything. I think the amount of prints you get is certainly in proportion to the price.

Dit fotoalbum kwam eigenlijk precies op het goede moment. Dit jaar kan ik met dit album mooi afsluiten, en terugkijken op alle momenten van 2018. Ook al was dit niet een van mijn beste jaren, er zijn ook zeker veel goede dingen gebeurd die je niet moet vergeten haha. Op naar 2019, de start van een nieuw jaar met nieuwe kansen. Op de laatste pagina heb ik 2 van mijn favoriete quotes uitgekozen om het boek mee af te sluiten. Eentje gaat erover dat iedereen in zijn leven zijn eigen pad volgt, en alles gebeurd wanneer jij er klaar voor bent. (dat denk ik tenminste;) De andere quote gaat over zelfvertrouwen, en dat uiteindelijk jouw mening het belangrijkste is en niemand je van de wijs moet brengen. 

This photo album actually arrived just at the right time. This year I can close this album nicely, and look back on all the moments of 2018. Even though this was not one of my best years, a lot of good things have certainly happened that you shouldn't forget haha. On to 2019, the start of a new year with new opportunities. On the last page I chose 2 of my favorite quotes to close the book with. One is about everyone following their own path in their lives, and everything happens when you are ready. (At least I think so) The other quote is about self-confidence, and that ultimately your opinion is the most important thing and no-one should fool you.

A Cozy & Stylish Christmas Gift Idea For Him

It's almost Christmas!! Time has flown by this year, and I kind of have to admit that this year hasn't been one of my best years. I'm super ready for 2019 to start, with new chances and building new memories using all the life lessons I learned so far. But first Christmas of course! I always love buying gifts for my family and friends. Even if they're small, it's the gesture of appreciation that matters most. (Although big gifts are always welcome;) Maybe you're just like me and always end up doing your Christmas shopping the day before. It's actually not that big of a deal, because most things are on sale by then. If you're looking to buy a last minute gift for your boyfriend, brother or father, read further now for something comfy he'll love!

For women,  it's a lot easier to buy a gift. From lipsticks to spa days, to cute necklaces and heels. There's a lot you can buy that will be cute to give and she'll be happy to receive. For men, it's a bit different. I think in general, men are not that picky as women when it comes to gifts. But, they do like cute things just as much! I came across this website where they have lots of nice clothes and gift boxes for men. You can find there nice shirts, socks, boxers and much more. 

I received a gift box with 4 pairs of Tommy Hilfiger socks. The socks are in cute and colorful patterns, and I think perfect for any guy during Winter to stay warm. The socks are knie length and the stripes are my favorite pattern haha. I think I would actually even wear them when I'm having a lazy day at home haha. Tommy Hilfiger is quite expensive, but the quality is really good. I can remember one time I bought socks at the Primark, and after washing them once, they were a size too small. Sometimes that happens with cheaper brands, not all of them though. Socks at H&M are comfortable and from good quality too. For guys and men it's cute to wear the Tommy socks even in combination with a black tie or any suit for the festive days. It kind of adds a pop of color to it.

Toffe Muurdecoratie Voor In Je Kamer

Tegenwoordig is het super makkelijk om het vliegtuig te pakken. Voor je het weet zit je in Rome aan een stuk pizza, of ben je misschien wel in Bali aan het genieten van zon, zee en strand. Er zijn nog zoveel steden die ik zou willen bezoeken, van San Fransisco, tot Vancouver to Hong Kong. Het liefst zou ik na mijn studie een wereldreis maken van een jaar, hoe cool is dat?! Als je net zo'n reisliefhebber bent als ik, dan kan je dat natuurlijk laten terugkomen in je interieur of met leuke decoraties in je woon - en slaapkamer. Ik heb toevallig gisteren gehoord dat ik een kamer heb in Den Haag, super fijn! Het leukste vind ik altijd het zoeken naar leuke spulletjes en decoraties, het perfecte excuus om te gaan winkelen. Het handigste vind ik altijd dat je eerst een kamer moet zien, de grootte etc. en dan goed kan inschatten wat voor look of vibe je aan je kamer wil geven. Omdat mijn kamer 21m2 is, past er best wel een groot schilderij of foto op canvas aan de muur. 

Omdat ik zoveel van reizen houd leek het mij een tof idee om een wereldkaart in mijn nieuwe kamer te hangen. In de webshop werelkaarten.nl heb je super veel keuze aan kaarten, van stadskaarten, tot landkaarten van Nederland of België en in verschillende thema's. Dus als jij liever een kaart wil voor een kinderkamer, bijvoorbeeld voor je nichtje of neefje, dan kan je die ook zeker vinden! Wat fijn is is dat de kaarten in veel verschillende formaten verkrijgbaar zijn, zo zit er altijd wel iets tussen wat bij jouw kamer past. En je kan kiezen uit veel verschillende soorten materialen, meer dan 90 verschillende kaarten, bijvoorbeeld canvas of plexiglas of zelfs een muursticker.
