How To Live A Healthy Lifestyle During The Pandemic

BeU is a monthly column made for and by women. The aim of BeU is to create a safe online space where girls and women from across the globe can share, inspire and connect with one another to help each other grow. Topics that will be discussed range from body positivity, to period struggles and taboos, mental health issues, story highlights, relationships, student life, and much more.

I'm really excited about the idea! I hope that with the creation of this online space it will be a place where authenticity, kindness, and inspiration are the building blocks for girls and women aiming to inspire and connect with one another.

YAIKA TAK
I had just been working on my graduation internship for a month when the corona virus reached the Netherlands. Since I was interning at a government agency, we were asked to work from home after one of the first press conferences. I went home not knowing that this would actually be my last day at the office. I had a lot of trouble continuing my graduation research at home. I don't like doing research anyway. My motivation dropped enormously and I no longer felt a connection with my internship company. For two weeks I lay in the couch over a blanket watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I've even been on the point of just stopping altogether. I did not recognize this at all, as I am always a striker. I am always the warrior, I am the one nerd who always gets a nine. I felt such a disconnection from my own values that I really had to look for myself. As the deadline got closer, my motivation returned. I was also completely fed up with my own lazy behaviour. I had made a plan and divided it into lots of small parts, so you can quickly cross something off. I recommend this to everyone. I had not divided my planning into time blocks, but into tasks. I wanted to complete a certain number of tasks per day. This worked well for me. Finally, it is important to maintain rhythm in your life. In addition, I made a large choice, for example I started living on my own in the middle of the quarantine time. I've rediscovered myself and I don't even want to go back to who I was before the corona crisis. If you want to read more about this:
