Best Makeup Products for Fall

And it's officially fall! It seems like time just goes faster each year! The leaves are turning brown, it's getting darker earlier each day, and it's starting to get a bit chillier when you walk out the door. I have to be honest, summer is my favorite season, but since it's not summer anymore, why not just make the best of this season!? Fall is the perfect excuse to go shopping again. It's time for pumpkin carving, cozy blankets, hot chocolate, cute decorations for your dorm room, warm sweaters and string lights. And not to forget, shopping for makeup is also very fun! My two favorite makeup brands at the moment are Sally Hansen and Max Factor. I prefer to buy products that are good quality, instead of buying a lot of things that I have to throw away quickly. It is true that some products are cheap and from good quality, you just have to look well. Out of all the makeup, nail polishes are the most fun to buy. (My collection is way too big already aha) From glitter shades to all shades of red, to neutral tones, you name it I have it. ;)

Eyeshadow Kit 

I was looking for some new things to add to my collection. The first product I bought is the Max Factor Smokey Eye Drama 04 Luxe Lilacs eyeshadow kit. I really love the light purple shades, one shade is almost soft pink, really cute. And what is cool, is that there also is an eyebrow powder to make your look complete with perfect looking brows. I still need to practice a bit to get make my smokey eye look perfect, but the steps on the back make it already a lot easier. Overall, I think it's a nice product, you can find it in many other color combinations as well. The shades do stay quite long too, which is nice if you're looking for a more long-lasting eyeshadow.

Nailpolish Set

I also got two nail polishes from Sally Hansen. The brand is a bit comparable to OPI. Sometimes I buy nail polishes from a cheap drugstore brand and they end up lasting super long. I guess you just have to have luck with what brand you choose. But from Sally Hansen, you expect a bit more because it's also more expensive and well-known. I really love the shades, dark purple, and glittery grey/silver. (Almost Christmas like) Applying them is a bit difficult because the polish is really liquid, but afterwards, the result is pretty! They don't tend to last very long, which is a bit disappointing, but maybe if you try to add a top coat on it does last longer. Make sure to do that for the ultimate effect!

L'Oréal Paris Infaillible Primers

L'Oréal has always been one of my favourite makeup brands. I never really use only one specific brand, but I like to switch things up and combine and add different kinds of products to my routine. I almost always try out a new product that I've seen on Instagram or trough a friend that recommends it. I believe the future of beauty is not only using celebreties to promote a product anymore, but it's going to be more and more about what people tell each other. The audience is the most powerful tool. If you have a sensitive skin just like me, you have to be careful with what you expose your skin to by looking at the ingredients. For example, I try to not choose makeup or any beauty product that has too much alchohol in it. Alcohol can make your skin dry and on the long term it can even benefit ageing.

My makeup routine is super simple. Most days I don't even wear makeup at all. (Ssh🤫) I can walk out the door with a bare face and feel as good as when I do wear some makeup. Right now, eyeliner is still my enemy. But hey, I'm doing my best haha! So in the morning I wash my face with warm water, than end with some cold water to refresh my skin. I apply my daily moisturiser with spf and if it's really sunny I apply extra sun cream. Than I go to my primer, and that's the product I would love to tell you everything about! After applying my primer, I put on mascara and some lipgloss and I'm ready for the day. L'Oreal send me three different Infaillible primers to try out. Thank you! Many swear by a good primer and I although I never really wore a primer up until now, it's definitely true. A primer is a good base for your makeup. I tested all the three L'Oréal Paris Infaillible Primers and will show you everything about it. There is a primer for every skin type, so read further to see which primer is for you!

Don't they look cute? In total there a five different primers of the collection. All with their own strengths. The packing kind of suits the type of primer, simple but effective! The anti-redness primer is green and the illuminating one looks shiny. I tried all the primers and will show you the effect on my hand so you can see how effective it is.

The Luminizing Primer gives you an extra glowy base for your makeup. You see these shiny finishing touches everywhere lately. Especially the shiny highlighters and lipglosses which I'm super into. Immediately after you apply it you see a metallic glow. At first I thought it was a little bit over the top, but if you don't use too much it's good. To minimise the intensive glow you can also apply foundation. You can apply it on your nose, above your eyebrows or your cheekbones. Love this primer!!

The Pore Refining Primer is great if your pores are visible or large. My pores are not very visible so this primer is not really for me. Only the pores around my nose are larger. The primer is very light pink in shade and thicker than the illuminating one. It does what is promises and your pores are visible and has a matte effect as well. I did see that around my nose the pores weren't visible anymore.

The Anti Redness Primer is the last face primer I tried out. I have a skin condition called rosacea, it causes your skin to become red more quickly and dry. It's nothing serious but it's nice if there is something that covers the redness. The primer is light green and neutralises the redness on your skin. It's much more liquid than the other two primers. When you apply it you can still see the green shade. It also doesn't really do much for my skin, but it does feel soft. Also when I applied it on my face it gave the same green glow, I'm not a fan of this product. But if you do have extreme redness then it's perfect.

CONCLUSION 

I never really used primers before, but after trying out these my opinion changed. I'm definitely going to use them more often because they are a good base for my routine and your skin looks more even and neat.

You don't have to be a professional makeup artist to apply eyeshadow. Applying eyeshadow can be tricky in the beginning, but with the right supplies and practise it's easy to do. With this ways your on your way of becoming the beauty queen.

HOW TO APPLY EYESHADOW

1. Start with cleaning your face. This is a good base to start with. Your skin has to be clean before applying the makeup. Was your face with a cleanser before your begin. It will keep your skin from being greasy. Also if you want you could put some primer on your eyes so the makeup has something to stick on. Then you can apply concealer(also optional) for the dark circles under your eyes. 

2. Choosing the right color. Picking a good color or brand can be tricky. There are so many options like powders, they are pigmented eyeshadows and difficult to apply. Or cream eyeshadows, they are much easier to pally and you can apply them very quickly. When looking for the right color you can look at your skin tone and see what matches your skin. Also looking at your eye color is good to see which color looks good on your eyes. If you want to have a natural look you can choose a palette with three shades in neutral tones. It will give you just that extra sparkle for your eyes. ;) Try the color blue, this is a color that really pops. It's nice for a party or when your going out but also on a daily basis. Blue goes the best with brown eyes because it's the opposite. 

3. Apply eyeshadow. Apply a light color on your eyelid, from you eyelashes to your crease. Choose a color like soft pink or brown. If you choose a color in that direction your perfectly fine.Then apply a lighter color on your brown bone. Highlight that area, and choose a color like gold or something in those shades. Then at last apply a dark color at your crease, this can really be any color you prefer but a little in colors that you already used for the base. Go from the outer corner of your eye to you crease and do this with little strokes. When you have done this you can pick a fluffy brush or with your finger and you can blend and mix the colors on your eyelids. Then your ready to go!! ;)

*Don't use to much eyeshadow, or your makeup will look overdone.

*Experiment! It's fun to create new ways and create your own look. 

*Choosing the right colors and applying eyeshadow can take some time.
